Rayland Baxter
Rayland Baxter is a Nashville based singer, songwriter, and producer whose music blends psychedelic folk, indie rock, and Americana into an imaginative sound uniquely his own. Emerging in the early 2010s, Baxter quickly earned attention for his laid back vocals, colorful lyricism, and richly textured songwriting. His debut album Feathers & Fish Hooks introduced listeners to his dreamy, genre blurring style, while subsequent releases expanded his sonic palette with playful arrangements and a distinctly adventurous spirit.
Known for crafting songs that feel both whimsical and deeply reflective, Baxter approaches music with a sense of curiosity and creative freedom. His 2022 album If I Were a Butterfly marked a new chapter, written and produced during an extended period of creative isolation in a converted rubber band factory in rural Kentucky. The album captures Baxter at his most inventive—building lush, colorful soundscapes that highlight his knack for vivid storytelling and unconventional pop craftsmanship, further cementing his reputation as one of the most distinctive voices in modern indie-folk songwriting.
