Some of the best businesses are born from a simple question: “There has to be a better cup of coffee than this.” That’s essentially where founder Jeffrey Wetzel’s journey began. A self described former “light-and-sweet Dunkin’ Donuts guy,” Wetzel eventually realized his go to cup just wasn’t cutting it, and that turning point sent him down a deep rabbit hole of specialty coffee, one he’s never climbed out of, and has no intention of doing so.

Wetzel traveled to coffee growing farms in places like Costa Rica and Nicaragua to learn from the ground up what makes a truly great cup, getting to know growers personally and coming to understand the importance of ethically sourced beans that support the communities where they’re grown. Now operating out of a spacious production roastery and training facility in Allentown, Mad Catter Coffee Roasters is a proud Lehigh Valley small batch roaster with a growing following across the region.
